Waypoint was a project for my digital entrepreneurship class. The course focused mainly focused on platform business models, but my group’s project ended up being more of a software as a service model (SaaS). This class was a mix of students from all fields, my group had a software engineer, an art history major, a business student, and my multidisciplinary skills.
My team developed a subscription based service that allows museums, art galleries, and creative installations to add an interactive layer of information to exhibit spaces.
Proximity bluetooth beacons allow visitors to access relevant information for each exhibit space, find points of interest in buildings, and interact with spaces through events like scavenger hunts.
The final deliverable was a presentation pitch about the business developed. The team conducted interviews and research potential courses of action if the group decided to pursue the business idea.
